Horsethief Canyon Soccer Association’s 3rd Annual Night at the Galaxy
Ticket Sales for the Night at the Galaxy have been extended to Wednesday. Get them while you can.
Opening Day The HCSA Board of Directors would like to thank everyone that was able to participate in our opening day festivities. We hope everyone had a great time. If you took any good pictures please send them to our webmaster so that we can post them. We want to say “Thank You” the many kids and parents that volunteered their time to assist us with this fun day. Without volunteers like this we wouldn’t be able to have these types of events. We also want say “Thank You” to the Hot Diggidy gang for providing the food and drink. Please continue to show them your support though out the year by keeping them busy with food and drink orders. And remember, a portion of their sales are donated back to our league. Finally, there were many items left on the field that have been turned into the “Lost and Found”. Items include, girls flip flops, two size 3 soccer balls, cleats, one shin guard, pair of glasses, pair of sun glasses, 3 pair of uniform socks, black socks, and white socks. If you are missing any of these items please send a note to our Treasurer describing the items you lost. Thanks.

Reminders There are many teams practicing and our field space is limited. Remember that the fields are “first come first served” but we need to share the fields with other teams. Please limit the space you take to only what you absolutely need. This year HCSA has instituted a policy of no names of any kind on the uniform jerseys for all age groups. We are doing this to comply with suggestions put out by Megan’s Law. We know that the names look nice but we feel that the safety of the children that play in our league is number one. It is being done for all age groups to have uniformity amongst the teams. Picture day is August 23rd. The league provides a picture package that is included with your registration. That package includes the items listed below: 8 x 10 Player/Team Composite 4 Wallets Player Picture Button 3 ½ x 5 Player Picture 5 x 7 Team Picture
If you are a coach or team parent you must be finger printed for HCSA through Live Scan. We will not be hosting another Live Scan, but will reimburse you for the cost up to $20. You will need to provide a receipt to the Treasurer to get your money back. Below is a link to the Live Scan application and a list of locations where you can have it done.
Coaches and Team Parents Once your team comes up with a name please send it to the Webmaster so we can post it in the teams section.
Parents… Some items your child will need for practice are listed below. Along with some things to remember. Ball Size 3 for U-5 thru U-8 Size 4 for U-10 thru U12 Size 5 for U-14 and up
Shin Guards - These must be worn at all practices and games. Without them your child will not be allowed to play. Cleats - Soccer cleats are optional, but are highly recommended. Baseball cleats are not to be worn for practice or games. Water Bottle - The weather is warm and your child will need plenty of water before, during, and after practice. No Jewelry - Jewelry is not allowed on the soccer fields. This includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, or other exposed piercings. This is for safety reasons. If your child is wearing any of these items on game day, they will be asked to remove them before being allowed to play. Medical alert bracelets may be worn, but must be covered up with tape. Small religious medallions may also be worn, but must be tucked inside their shirts.
