I'm a 5 year resident of Horsethief Canyon Ranch and the 2008 season marks my third year on the HCSA BOD. Growing up, I played baseball and football. Like many of the parents of HCSA, I never played soccer until my children did. During my children's first year of soccer, the league they played in had a volunteer requirement and because we signed up late, one of the only options left was referee. I signed up so my kids could play. I went through the training, which is far less than what HCSA provides, and in retrospect did a terrible job, but the kids got to play and had a good time. I stayed with it and each year it got easier and easier. I'm now in my 6th year as a referee. |

Hi I am Laurie Howanec. My family has lived in Horsethief Canyon since 1990. My husband and I have three children ages 17, 12, and 10. My children have played with HC soccer since its inception in 2003. My husband and I are both very active with the HCSA league. My husband helps with field maintenance and is a referee. I am going on my second term as Treasurer for the HSCA BOD. |

Hi, my family has lived in Horsethief Canyon since 2001. I am married and have three children that are all involved with the league. My two youngest sons, ages 6 and 8 are players, and my 15 year old is in his second year as a referee. Thanks to my very understanding wife, and the best Team Mom I’ve ever had, I’m able to coach, ref, manage the website, and be a board member. This is my first term on the HCSA BOD. |
